Despair.

Well, it finally came to pass.

Yesterday, Wed 12 June, 2002, we lost our most beloved cat, MoJo. We awoke to find him in a coma, took him to emergency care, and had no choice but to Euthanize: All but his base brain functions were gone.

I think we are planning to have a wake this Friday in his honour – We have him buried in the back yard, under the fig tree. I hope he likes it there. We’re planning on making a memorial marker stone fashioned to have a mosaic “M” from broken abalone shells and green glass.

I’m at work cause I don’t know what else to do.

Hmmm.

I think it’s broken, we’re all Coyote, the trixter, the source of his power.

I Am Coyote
Coyote is a fun-loving goofball and that fits you to a T. Playfully silly, you appear somewhat bumbling at times, and your goofy exterior sometimes makes people forget what a quick mind and razor wit hides behind that amiable grin. In the mythos of the Plains tribes, Coyote is also a Creator, and stole fire as a gift for mankind. Your gift to the world is the creative fire of your quick, capable mind..

Which Trickster are you?

Weee

There was a keen eclipse yesterday evening at 6:15, so H and I watched it with the help of a neighbour’s sextant-like device that didn’t burn your retinas.
Then I spontaneously suggested that we drive to the beach and look for driftwood and other remnant wood for Tiki carving and for use in decoration for the upcoming “Bayou Luau.”
So we stopped at the local market, bought sandwiches for dinner and drove out the 40min drive to the coast and walked around the head of the Russian River at Jenner and scouted for raw materials, which we found in nice abundance. It was great fun.

Oh, and France is out of the world cup. Without scoring one goal.
Pardon me. Ha hahahahahahah ah ah ahaha ha ha ha ha aha ha aha ha ah.
Suck it, France. 🙂 Oh, then suck it some more. And when you’re done, France, for Jupiter’s sake, suck it again.

Whew!

Jeeze. Worked on home stuff all weekend long. Lawns are nicely mown, edged, fertilized. I undid all our coloured Malibu lights and cleaned the bulbs and lenses for re-deployment. Did a dump run with our wonderful friend Ren, picked up some pickling supplies.

Things are in the swing for the upcoming July 4 party, so here is the teaser invite.

If you are reading this, consider yourself invited!

Bayou Luau!

Racquetball

Did a open racquetball night last night at the local Y – I was the worst player, but I definitely did better than I thought I would, and I had a great deal of fun.
This evening is ‘s second softball game at the ranch (her team is “Darth Sox”) so I get to go out and be an athletic supporter! It is a great little ball field, and anywhere on the ranch you can’t swing a dead ewok without hitting some beautiful view, so I’m looking forward to that.
Planning for “Bayou Luau” commences tonight, hopefully we can have invites out this weekend — I’ll post it here so you all can see our sillyness. I’m exited to have another July 4 party – last year was an absolute disaster with my dad dying and all.

Contacts

I got a new supply of extended wear contacts (green tinted) and the world is a covered in a light shade of green. I am also not used to this level of clarity – my old contacts were quite worn and fuzzy, but I had gotten used to them.
Fun new happy contacts!

Damn!

I changed my email settings on TH a couple of weeks ago because I became disappointed with the level of intellectual discourse in general on the list – my issue, I stopped getting email, but didn’t unsub.

Now I wished I hadn’t because of this Holly/Iman/Anna/whatever fiasco.
I feel like there was a big game and I wasn’t there to play on my side.
Luckily, the side of reason and all that is good — you guys — kicked major ass.
I was sad to see the mislead with the opposing arguments (Donna, in particular) but hopefully they have learned a valuable life-lesson.

In any way, huge kudos and admiration for you, Howie. And you too, ‘song — and all my friends from TH. I’m honoured to know you.

Blah

at work but it is hard to concentrate with our kitty MoJo’s heath issues (see ‘s latest post.
We’ve had him as long (~1 month’s difference) as we have been living together, he is the “perfect cat.”
Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, and damn again.

WORLD CUP 2002! Get the tea on!

World Cup is tomorrow!

Wee!

I’ll be rooting for England, Ireland, Portugal, Brazil, and Italy. Oh, and I guess the US as well.
I’ll also be rooting for anyone playing against France. Go Senegal!

Now I have to decide whether to get up at 4:30AM to watch tomorrow or tape it. I’m sure Heather will want to tape, but the excitement may force me up early…

Sore all over!

We spent a good amount of the weekend in the backyard doing landscaping which involved:
1. shovelling through dirt, rocks, and roots
2. pulling roots so shovelling can continue
3. dumping huge loads of wheelbarrow fulls of rocks and dirt
4. dumping new great bags of potting soil/compost into dug area

My back, Neck, and hands are very angry with me.
