Katrina is a symbol of all this administration does and doesn’t do. Michael
Brown — or Brownie as the President so famously thanked him for doing a heck
of a job – Brownie is to Katrina what Paul Bremer is to peace in Iraq; what
George Tenet is to slam dunk intelligence; what Paul Wolfowitz is to parades
paved with flowers in Baghdad; what Dick Cheney is to visionary energy policy;
what Donald Rumsfeld is to basic war planning; what Tom Delay is to ethics;
and what George Bush is to “Mission Accomplished” and “Wanted
Dead or Alive.” The bottom line is simple: The “we’ll do whatever
it takes” administration doesn’t have what it takes to get the job done.

This is the Katrina administration.

It has consistently squandered time, tax dollars, political capital, and even
risked American lives on sideshow adventures: A war of choice in Iraq against
someone who had nothing to do with 9/11; a full scale presidential assault on
Social Security when everyone knows the real crisis is in health care – Medicare
and Medicaid. And that’s before you get to willful denial on global warming;
avoidance on competitiveness; complicity in the loss and refusal of health care
to millions.

It’s time for Bush to Step down. If he had an ounce of decency he’d resign. Unfortunately, he is entirely devoid of any semblance of such. The entire administration needs to be indicted, convicted, and imprisoned. These criminals must be held accountable for the health of our Country.

The only opinion I’m not tired of hearing is my own.

And I’m not too sure about that.

I’m tired of hearing and reading the claim that “Charile & the Chocolate Factory” is a remake of “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory” when on its face it is undebateable that it isn’t.

Irrelevant is which you(‘ll) like better, what your ideas about another movie from the same souce book, what you think of director(s) etc. I could give 2 shits about that. Fuck you and your opinions.*

But come on, people. Enough with the intellectual sloppyness.

Quit trying to find patterns and connections for just a fucking second, will you?. God damn ape-brains.

Hello, dear readers.

After failing to find a camping site on Friday after work, and I returned to Mathom House for a 3-day weekend to ourselves.

We worked in the yard today and then walked to Edgefield, a local McMenamin’s joint. After walking back we settled for a after drink drink in the Monkey Hut.

There I made a Cesar’s Punch (for the first time – rather complex for the simple ingredients) from Intoxica. I then decided to try at a concotion of my own.

I deditcate this one to , who I seem to missing much as of late. Marin and Rebecca would have made the evening perfect in the monkey hut. We never seem to spend enough time outside of events and extraneous plans.

So, here, Maritn, is my latest concoction. (Blair, please try as well) Let me know what you think, and what you would change/alter. I’d love the feedback.

I call it:
“The Deceiver”

1oz Lime Juice
3/4oz Orange Juice

1/2oz Falernum
1/4oz Orgeat
1/4oz Simple Syrup

1oz Pyrat XO Rum
1oz Gold Jamaican Rum
1oz Jolly Roger White Rum (or other ‘harsh’ white – Puerto Rican would work)

Shake and pour into collins glass filled with crushed ice, garnish with marachino cherry + pineapple.

I think it’s still a work in progress. It has a nice smoothness that is good; I’d like to keep that. Still, I think taking out the gold and putting in a dark would add another flavour area ‘missing’. I thought also adding 1oz of high-proof and 1oz of Pineapple would put it more in the Zombie realm. It also may be good as it stands.
