Might as well post, I suppose.

Seems like I’m avoiding posting because

1) Nothing seems interesting enough to share
2) I just want to rant.

So, Instead of choosing (1), I choose (2).

What’s lately annoying moi?

I’m tired of people taking offense at what others say. Oh, he used a racist word, Oh! She has a stupid opinin! Oh, Look at that article isn’t he horrible! Oh, I’m offended! Oh! Oh! Oh!

Be the dude. Recite after me: “That’s just … like … your opinion … man.”

If you dislike the position of an opinion of another (usually post, article, etc) fine – argue against it. But the vilification or “action” based on statements of others is such a colossal waste of time and effort. Actions should be censored, not opinions or statements. Fight ideas with ideas, not censorship.

I’m taking porch monkey back, too. And I don’t care that anyone knows I think you can love little mambo and be anti-racist at the same time. Stop chasing windmills and start making change.

rant over.

So to hit (1), let’s see –

1.a. Had 3 tonnes of fun in Seattle visiting and . It’s easy at times to just ‘slip’ into a friendship where it seems cultural experiences are already shared. You share a language, a perception, an aesthetic. The history can be taken for granted and you can just be comfortable. I hope that perception of mine is a shared one. In short: Wonderful, Superior people.

1.b. Was sad to disappoint K and N (our bestest friends) by bailing and flaking on SoaP and other things — they do deserve better than that and it sucks sometimes to be the fun-killer. We’ll obviously need to make it up.

1.c. Thinking about PROJECTS to do house-wise. I think built-in bookshelves will be the next order of business, at the same time the monkey hut gets a 3.1 do-over. Our fore mentions fabulous we-don’t-deserve them friends K and N gave us this rad light-up puffer fish, so need to re-do lighting, re-stock booze, clean.

That’s all folks. Happy Thursday.

P.S. if any gracious soul wants to gift me with a year’s LJ subscription, I promise I’ll post more. 🙂 – I suppose I can afford it, but that money always seems to be better suited elsewhere, you know?

P.P.S. smoochies

Crap!

* where “right” equals what Craig would likely do in their stead

Camping bug

I’ve got the camping bug. I want to camp.

I want to wake up under that nylon fabric and have pirate coffee and eggs and bacon, then jump in a cool swimmin’ whole. I want to play darts and cribbage while the fresh fish catch is frying in a pan getting ready to be eaten.

Who is with me?

So, who has some funny stories, or good news, or pleasant conversation?

Yes, I’m a needy bitch.

October in Florida

So!

Heather and I are going on Vacation in October! I just got the last bit of the preperations paid for: The plane tickets.

We’re attending The Hukilau in Ft. Lauderdale. , , ! Hang times? We’ll be up-to-our-asses in Mai Tais, of course.

We get in Wednesday the 4th of Oct in the evening and are leaving on Monday, Oct 9.

I was wondering if there might be room to squeeze a south-beach queer night in there somewhere.

VACATION! Hooray!

Project Runway Nonsense

We watch P.R. on Thursday evenings via Tivo — we just finished it.

Malan was my secret boyfriend and I adored every god damned aspect ofhim. I almost cannot watch the show anymore, I really expected better from them. Dissapointed – I have better taste and style than the god-damn she-hag from Elle. How the hell did that piece of trash become where she is? Laughable.

My sole reason now for watching the show is to watch the destruction of Angela. She is disgusting and hideous. I’m praying to Satan to give her rectal cancer, or at least a horrible case of the beer shits. Ugh. HATE. HER. Maybe we can watch neck tattoo boy fuck her in the ass. I’d pay a dollar to see that.

I liked Vincent’s design. I found it classic and daring in its simplicity. All it’s minor foibles would have been corrected with useful advice and support. Gah.

Kayne and Robert need their own show, obviously. I could watch them for days 🙂 swoon.

I’m still in denial over Malan. I was looking forward to a summer filled with his splendour. I’ve been cheated. Disappointing.

Now I’ll have to cyber stalk Malan and see what he does next. To be great is to be misunderstood.

CoH/CoV DOUBLE XP WEEKEND!

Next weekend (not tomorrow, but in a week after tomorrow), July 21-23rd will be DOUBLE XP WEEKEND for City of Heroes/Villains.

Wee!!! Let’s everybody who can, play! Inferna just made 40th lvl, perhaps with work I can get him to 50? 😀

Revelation

Since the TIKI KON, I’ve been in serious ‘hibernation’ mode and quite a bit cranky – don’t want to go out, don’t want to talk on the phone, want to go and hide.

Then today it hits me: Oh, yeah! I forgot I’m an introvert. I do such a nice job of pretending to be extroverted, I forget it is an effort.

So this weekend, it is shut-in time, house fixin’-up time, yard-work time. I sense some serious nesting in my future. A nice warm weekend to recharge the introvert batteries and I’ll be right as sunshine.

Hooray!
