So I’m now officially freaking out about the number of things we need to get accomplished to move.
Boy does it suck.

This is the blog of the researcher who “found” the Tolkien translation of Beowulf and who is working on the translation, eventual publishing (I think). Still, his blog rocks for nerdy T fans (and fans of Philologist propoganda).
Suck it, Literati!
Well, it looks like cuturally, my Fandom will be ending with the culmanation of PJ’s LOTR film treatment. That is, what else is there possibly for me to look forward to? Yeah, there will always be a new interest, yet LotR is and was such a formative and personal structure of my life. I look on this with a bittersweet view, like a small Grey Haven of my heart. I move on, the world moves on, all passes. Happy and Sad. Young and Old.
I feel however, that I have outgrown and passed Fandom – like Frodo’s Dreme, I look at the home of Fanboydom and it’s not mine anymore. I’ll never be there again, never to return, for still they speak not, men that I meet.

If I had the time, I would have loved to look this up in an appropriate Chineese dialect. Englsih shall have to suffice:
Happy Birthday,

Also, no order in 2nd listing:
Happy Birthday,
I’ll buy you a drink at Silverado when you visit us in PDX.
So I couldn’t stand having just a Fandango barcode’s promise of tickets for the The Lord of the Rings trilogy tuesday:

Easy place to find. There are plent of “chain” eateries around the area: Chili’s, TGI Fridays, etc. There are also some keen local places – H and I ate at a coffee shop/diner called “Eggies.” Deeeeelicious. There were only the locals, hipsters, and grannies there with us.
Also almost sharing the parking lot was a Vagabond Executive motel. This would be a perfect staging point for a room on Monday and Tuesday night. I’m looking into cost and such.
Just so all can see the visual move and surroundings for us, here is an aerial comparison:
We are going from here:

To here:

Notice the large park to the east, notice the raspberry fields to the west, notice the house in the middle.
Oh, the quiet.
And aslo, the large parking lot to the north is a safeway. And yes, those are two baseball diamonds to the east. 🙂
It’s Friday and this has been a long week. I’m eager to be quite productive this weekend; Here is some positive affirmation: I will get things accomplished.
It’s going to rain all weekend, so yard cleanup may be difficult. Sunday is supposed to be clearing up a bit, maybe I’ll be able to get a lawn mowing/edging in.
Really don’t feel like working much today. Let’s see how much I can accomplish in a relaxed Friday fashion.
Hey,
In other news, I’m having dumb fears that because I don’t have actual trilogy Tuesday tickets in hand, we are going to have difficulty – I have the Fandango proof of purchase and stuff, so we turn those in for the tix, but still – I wish I could get over it. I’d hate to have to do a 4-hr round trip to sacto just to satisfy an irrational fear.
In other news, it must be autumn, because my libido is completely insatiable. PH34R M3! 😉
Much less productive last night than I wished to be, though H did get some good quality CBEST studying in.
Got a big raise at work, though I’ve only about 3 months left (and only 4 weeks left in CA).
Time is marching on and I’m starting to get a bit nervous about time left and things to get done
Anyone in the area wanna help pack or clean this weekend? 😀 I’ve got beer, and we can take a break at 4:20!
I love you, Salon!
We booked the moving van and gave our current rental agency our notice yesterday.
Gettin’ Closer!
