Monday

Monday, Monday.

is away at a training in smugland/smogland today and tomorrow, so I’m all alone!
I think I’ll be boring and clean the house – yep. That’s my idea of excitement! Cleaning.
Though I did get a bit of a breakthrough with my third Sim City (the first 2 were complete failures). I think this one will be a failure as well, but I’m starting to figure it out. I just can’t turn a profit in the city. I resisting the cheats at the moment – I want to play this without resorting to cheating. We’ll see how long I’ll last.
Work’s “eh” at the moment – at least I’m doing really visible things right now…
Can’t frikin’ wait for a holiday, though — both american & english meanings.

  1. I take it you are playing SimCity 4… what do you think of it thus far?

How does it compare to 3000?

If I purchase it will the rest of my life fade into oblivion as I try to build a megalopolis?

  2. I quite like it. I never really got into 3k (vs. 2k) — I liked the changes, but wansn’t fully happy.

4 seems to have fixed that. It is a huge resource pig, though. But damn, if it isn’t the prettiest dern thing I’ve just about ever seen. I still have more playing to do before I can really review it.

I would, however suggest waiting for a bit for a couple of patches if you can stand it. It’s solid, but there will likely be extra stuff coming out in the next year or so (If The Sims is a model of how maxis plans to squeeze a franchise).

But if you can’t stand it, by all means get it and move the commode & fridge next to your computer. 😉
