I swear there is some kind of creative monster in my dying to escape.
I daydream around sites like www.fontdiner.com and www.houseindustries.com – I lust after magazines such wallpaper*. Music percolates through my mind. Colours gad about.
Why do I not produce?
I feel like a writer with 32 years of writers block, staring at the blank page of future.
I think I don’t know where to start; I think I don’t know what to do.
It is almost that the vector of my creativity has not yet been discovered.
Or perhaps I’m a daydreamer and far too lazy.
I put pencil to canvas
I found out acrylic primed canvas and pencil don’t mix so well, but I was surprised (so far) by what I did. Next thing is to paint it.
I say you go Pollock on something.
I think you are lazy, in that if you don’t have a specific task, it is difficult to motivate yourself.
So create a task. What about a ‘zine? I know we’re a little old for that sort of thing, but we did miss it the first time around. Just something to focus on creating–what is all that (uh, product testing) Adobe software for?
I have the same problem, and I will admit it is laziness. I have great ideas but rarely have the follow-through. I blame “time” but if I really wanted to do something I could make the time.
I think a ‘zine would be fun!! Who knows how old you are when you’re making it? Who says that it couldn’t be about being over a “certain age” and still hip? And Portland, she is a ‘zine-friendly city.
Yeah, just have a part of the ‘zine that say never trust anyone over 30, and all but your closest friends will never suspect.
I think you could make an awesome ‘zine, but then the crappyness is part of the zen of ‘zine.
Maybe you could call it the Zenn’zinE or the Sine/Co-sine ‘zine. (Wait that doesn’t rhyme, like I think it does. It’s /zeen/ not /zyne/.)
I made a zine. Mine was about WINTER DEPRESSION. worst zine ever! But i am too old for that shit too, and it was great fun.
mmm, fondiner…I love fontdiner.com.
that first one, of course, should say “fontidiner”
If you like fonts, check out this silly little thing. You may already have seen it, but here it is anyway:

A spoof of Behind the Music. It’s called Behind the Typeface, and it’s about Cooper Black. 🙂
