I changed my email settings on TH a couple of weeks ago because I became disappointed with the level of intellectual discourse in general on the list – my issue, I stopped getting email, but didn’t unsub.
Now I wished I hadn’t because of this Holly/Iman/Anna/whatever fiasco.
I feel like there was a big game and I wasn’t there to play on my side.
Luckily, the side of reason and all that is good — you guys — kicked major ass.
I was sad to see the mislead with the opposing arguments (Donna, in particular) but hopefully they have learned a valuable life-lesson.
In any way, huge kudos and admiration for you, Howie. And you too, ‘song — and all my friends from TH. I’m honoured to know you.

well, I enjoyed it myself. Yeah, it was rude and quick and nasty — and very human. You also atoned and apologized, which (IMHO) makes it OK.
The hindsight of what Holly was doing is just gravy.
See, I *knew* what she was doing. I had big alarm bells going off.
I spotted it right away, in the archives. The “Im” was a dead giveaway. That just isn’t a common tic, and her email was way too young for 14. What a freak!
I’m actually glad I wasn’t around. I have a tendency to escalate things (I know, you’re finding this hard to believe! ;)). Too many times, I get the blame, or become the flame. So this time, I did nothing onlist. And see, the freaks out themselves?
The odd thing is, I assume she’s still subbed, since she couldn’t figure out how to unsub. Heee.
I did send to her offlist, but it wasn’t about her posting, it was in defense of Matt.
