  1. i’m torn – i kinda want to gather with people, but i don’t want to host, and i don’t want to be stuck at someone else’s house. i dunno. maybe the beatnik and i will take a weekend trip to an island or something. maybe we’ll stay in and watch teevee… i’m kinda not feeling it this year.

although, i did get a pretty pretty wreath last night, and i decorated it with swizzle sticks.

  2. See you! Maybe some other people! Week is actually crunchy for me…

I just put together el-PC Maximo! I putup a GameBoy in the bathroom! We’re hip!

  3. I’m just pleased as punch that I will be free and clear of travel this year.

    I’ll be home for Christmas!

  4. Crunchy like crunch time.

All our customers are going away for the break.

I have 10 requests for changes to go live on 01/01/07.

I can script and schedule ’em though. Just a lot of work to do alongside the emergencies.

  5. i’ll be at my aunt and uncle’s for xmas day. with my cd-walkman playing Smashing Pumpkins in my headphones.

  6. None of my co-workers got the memo that we’re supposed to be slacking off, so I’ve actually had my busiest week in a while.

But on Friday evening I’m going to turn the ‘puter off and not even think about booting up again until 12/26. In between I’ll have the usual Xmas Eve with one side of the family (the side that has yet to spell my name correctly on a gift…and as you know, I shan’t see 30 again this life) and Xmas Day, the real deal with stockings and breakfast and good presents at my parents’ house.

  7. What are your plans for Christmas?

Leaving Friday afternoon for Sanford, FL. Should be there sometime late Sat. afternoon after a stopover in Lafayette LA. Fly out of Orlando at 10 AM X-mas Day for home. Then we’ll see what happens with the rest of my time off.

Unfortunately, this has been an extremely productive week. Everybody seems to be wanting to get all kinds of last-minute things done so they can test during the holiday period. Kind-of-a pain in the ass. But, we were able to fix some things that went wrong … cloned an environment … so it’s been a busy week-before-Xmas.

  8. I am counting minutes. The internets are a barren wasteland of boringness. Is it time to go home yet?

  9. I’m staying here as everyone else goes off travelling — I’mma have this house ALL TO MY LONESOME until 4th January. ::rolls::

As for unproductive week, SEZ YOU. XD We have a HYOOGLY project that’s due on the 29th, so we’re pushing like crazy to get it done. Still, work is work, and this has been such a work-devoid year for me I’m happy to have it now over the holiday season.

  10. Christmas is my penance for having a family. I spend dinner on Christmas Eve with the Italian side (although we’ll be eating Chinese takeout this year), and dinner of Christmas day with the Irish side (an event which has been declared non-smoking by the smug pest hosting the thing). Everybody gets USB Pole Dancers this year, and fuck ’em if the can’t take a joke.

I traditionally spend the time after dinner (but before 2am) down at the bar with the other scarred holiday refugees. That’s when I engage in pouring as much booze down my throat as I can manage. I’m not sure how I’ll handle that part of the evening now that the dirty bastards have gone and hung a surfboard on the wall. I may just stand out in the cold hurling feces at people.

There’s some possibility that I’ll be keeping a friend company on Christmas Eve, though, so this year might not be completely traumatic.
