Merry Christmas, from Heather and Craig to Craig and Heather:
After years of salivating over other’s mixers, a few years of gracious using of housemates’ machines (thanks, Caoilin & K!), we have broken down and purchased a Kichen Aid:
- 575-watts Motor
- Professional bowl-lift design raises bowl into mixing position.
- 10-speed slide control ranges from a very fast whip to a very slow stir.
- PowerKnead™ spiral dough hook replicates hand-kneading to handle 20% more dough than Previous models.
- Durable direct drive, all-steel gear transmission delivers high-performance mixing action.
- Commercial-style motor protection ensures motor longevity.
- 6-quart polished stainless steel wide-mouth bowl with contoured handle
There was a deal at acehardwareoutlet.com – $334.00 (!!) The going “sale” rate is $399 and I’ve seen it on sale for $369 before, but I couldn’t pass up $334. Plus – Free shipping and a mail-in $50 rebate.
Christmas Cooking just got far more festive.
Oh, and the color? Black, of course. (as pictured above).
Lovely!
May you have many years of happy mixing!
one little tip: When I’ve used my machine to make a very thick dough (brioche) the machine tends to “walk” across the table. So don’t leave the room when mixing dough, or your mixer may have walked on to the floor!
Gotcha! Thanks for the tip!
Wholy crap I want one!
kitchenaid mixers = love.
Yowza, baby. I think yours is sexier than mine. And I regularly pet mine.
There’s really no way to say that without sounding dirty, is there?
ooooooooh! gorgeous!!!
I keep saying I am gonna get one. Red, maybe. Or that nice avocado green that matches my kitchen. Or maybe stainless. 🙂
mmmmmm. Have fun! Make lotsacookies!
I used to have a very old one of these, you could feel the quality, and how consistantly it worked.
You won’t be sorry. KAs are the cat’s ass. But then you know that already.
