I’ve got the S.A.D. today. Everything is absolutely wonderful, but I’m riding a PMS type hormone wave. wee. I think I’d rather be home listening to xmas music and baking cookies, with friends.

Hello chillun! How you durrin?

Gimpy McSlothfoot here. I have returned to work – foot is still doing well. The primary infection is completely gone, but I am still on antibiotics to be sure. The good news is this morning a nurse removed my IV line. I will do the remainder of my treatment with oral antibiotics, 4x a day. The Achilles tendon pain is slowly receding, which is nice for progress sake. It is still to slow for my non-existent patience.

There have been some major wind storms here in Portland in the last few days. The worst of it was last night. We luckily did not lose power nor any trees, thank Krampus.

Oh! The Kitchen Aid came on Wednesday and it is absolutely gorgeous. This means cookies this weekend! Who wants to help? 😉 The things on the baking list are at least 1) Fruitcake and 2) Spitzbuben (jammy window nut-cookies). More cookies if time allows. Hooray!

So my foot had been hurting since about tuesday of last week – It sometimes gets sore, but then becomes OK after a few days. This time it did not. By Sunday it was still swollen and red.

Went to Urgent Care where I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection that requires IV antibiotics. I spent that night there with IV antibiotics that showed great success. I’ve now been at home since Monday morning with my IV in and home IV treatments that I give to myself. I’ll be on the IV till at least Wednesday when I have another appt. with my Doctor. I’ve been complimented on my veins (young, elastic and durable) as well as my recovery rate. It also gave a chance to have bloodwork run, which turned all well and normal. No diabetes symptoms [yet – runs in family], white count in norms. The only thing I have to watch for is high blood pressure [which also runs in the family].

So it gives me a chance to work on my City of Heroes/Villains characters and watch movies and snuggle with Budge, who is more than happy to have me on the couch with my leg elevated. Budge is currently wedged between my leg and the couch and snoring loudly.

Krampus cards will continue – I’ve only gone through 1/3 of them with you (though about 1/2 of the cool ones).
