Yesterday afternoon was sunny and a tad bit warm.
So I did what anyone would do: I put the top down on Hansel, Pulled out the barbeque and grilled us some steak.
It was absolute heaven to barbeque out-of-doors in nice(ish) weather. The eating of the delicious animal topped it. I’m glad that I still have my gril skills – it came out the perfect balance between rare and medium rare. It was like meat flavoured candy, I tell you.
I can’t wait to grill again.
Hooray for spring!
CJ fired up the grill as well, and we had snappydogs, the first of the season. Mmmm, snappydogs. And fresh (if storebought) zucchini with mushrooms.
I love summer so much!
A few others at work here busted out the grill as well. It was in the air, it seems!
What are these snappydogs you speak of?
Soon we will stop cooking inside entirely. Snappydogs are fancy hot-dogs, with casings that “snap” when you bite them, as opposed to the mushy Oscar Mayer dogs. If you’re going to eat hot dogs, eat good ones!
There’s a local place (I think the german wurst shop on Sandy) that makes honest to goodness Frankfurters.
I’m dyin’ to try ’em. I think they may indeed be snappy.
Mmmm. Bratwurst.
Oh, for our veggie friends:
Grilled Red Onions With Balsamic Vinegar and Rosemary
Grilled Cauliflower
Grilled Vegetable Po’boys
Grilled Collard Greens
Appealing Bananas Calypso
Grilled Pineapple With Sweet Lime- Black Pepper Sauce
Jamaican Grilled Sweet Potatoes
Delicious. Only thing that comes close to meat on a grill? Veggies on a grill.
Mushrooms: Delicious!
Sweet taters: yummers!
Pineapple: the kine!
Oh, sweet, sweet barbecue: Is there nothing you can’t do?
Hubby ordered us a new, shiny, fantabulous Grill of Awesomeness. When it arrives it is going in the garage under a dust cover until the landscaping is done. Then we will christen the new patio with mint juleps, and beer, and steak, and grilled corn on the cob, and Sex Packets*. Oh yes. You are invited.
(*sex packets: small potatoes, sprigs of rosemary, carrots, whole cloves of garlic in numbers commensurate with your garlic love; olive oil, salt, pepper, one ice cube, wrap it all up in tinfoil, grill for around 45 minutes. oh my god)
Man I miss out on all the fun 🙁
Maybe we can have some when we come up for a visit? ^_^ I will spring for the steaks? ^_^
Deeelicious
If the sun is out, the barbecue follows.
lol SWEET ^_^
