A message to the internet

Keep your eyes on your own paper
Mind your own beeswax
You can only change others by changing yourself

p.s. if there is something you hate about someone else or some other group, it is really beacuse you hate it about yourself, but must externalize it to be able to address the issue.

  1. Criticism is fun and all, but really, can we fucking kill postmodernism yet? Let’s just let things be things and move the FUCK on. 🙂

  2. So when I bitch about my co-worker whistling under her breath constantly, what am I trying to externalize?

  3. I think I am trying to externalize my hatred for whistling, rather than letting it fester within me.
    😉

  4. If I had to guess (though I am loathe to do so), if it were I who were annoyed, I’d think of it this way:

I am uncomfortable with my inability to deal with the ‘uncomfortable’ stimulus of continued sounds around me, esecially those that make me think of the “gross-ness” of other people’s biological functions. My inability to cope pisses me off, so instead of working on my tolerance, I’ll be pissed at them for making the noise.

That’s just me, though (and I have similar reactions to suffling, eating noises –uggbarf–, and such). It’s me who cannot deal, not the other person.

  5. Oh, I know, I’m just teasing you. 🙂

If I were thinking seriously about it, I would guess that there are two things going on here. One is the visceral annoyance/pain I experience when people whistle off-key in my presence. The other would be my concern that I am somehow inadvertently annoying those around me, which translates into anger/annoyance at someone who’s doing the same.

  6. Disturbing. It’s more evidence that Dubya is my Shadow Self.

P.S. Your ceramic works are clearly mandalas.

  7. I think about W as the personification of all of our failures – he’s the end result of what we need to better about ourselves; he is my failure.

  8. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Postmodernism is the beginning of the end; the end of the beginning! It lives and dies forEVER!
