Thanks everyone for your well wishes.
I’m now recouperating at home. I arrived home yesterday afternoon after staying a night in the Hospital for observation. I’ve been getting progressively better by the hour. Last night I did get a bit sore, which tells me I over-did it yesterday. Today I’ll be more conservative with my activities.
The Gall Bladder was more inflamed than the doctors had thought and that is why it took longer for my surgery. So thank goodness that disfunctional thing is out of me. My drain (from where they flushed out my insides with saline) was not working properly which is another reason I remained for the night. I had a tube coming out of me. Instead of draining through the tube, I was draining around the tube. This meant frequest bandage changes. No big deal, but a pain for Heather do to instead of the nurses. Yesterday before I left, Dr. Dennis took out the drain and I immediately felt 5x better after it was out. A very strange, painful, and dirty feeling having it removed. Almost passed out from the shock/strangeness of it.
I slept very well last night, though I’m taking a lion’s share of the pillows. Today our friend Leslie from Petaluma is coming up. She is visiting for Thanksgiving. It will be very nice to see her; we haven’t visited since the SF Tiki Crawl this past March. She will be bringing some lovely wines with her, so I’ll try to be off the Vicadin to be able to enjoy them. If not tonight, I’m sure I can be clear of the Big V by tomorrow evening.
Oh, and I had a wonderful surprise from my work – they sent me some flowers as a get well gift. It’s a great arrangement with mother-in-law-tongues, other succulents, orchids, etc.
Well, I think I’m off for a mindless day of internet browsing and hopefully some City Of Heroes fun.
(tragedy: My main home system has begun random rebooting again while playing. 🙁 It really is time to get a new workstation. I’m still running a 1ghz CPU with PC133 Memory – a dinosaur computer!)
ta!
Working today, hooray! No CoH ’til later. I’m 2 bubs from 22 though, so, catch up to me! Talos Island is great, because all the stores are very closeby, so you can sell to you heart’s content! I will be on later. (5ish)
The PC bits are already taken care of. Do send your address though, I’d rather let you get things set up to enjoy instead of me getting there and then both of us being frustrated at some odd item.
Almost passed out from the shock/strangeness of it.
I understand this. **nods
Would definitely like to see the arragement 😉

This suggests you are up for receiving a phone call . . .
Take my Science poll! 😀
happy healing!
I’m so glad that the surgery went ok!
Your comment about the drain removal was spot-on… I recall that being one of the most loathesome and alien sensations I can remember experiencing. I thought at the time that that was because the doctor that yanked it out wasn’t particularly gentle about it, but I guess it is just a freaky feeling in general. [shudders with the memory]
I took it, but found it lacking 😉 I can’t really answer the questions without some context. (I may have missed context if there was one, I am still a bit loopy)

I may need to get a new HD too to make use of the speed – If you can, I’d love the specs of the bits. SATA?
Thanks so much for this BTW… 🙂 🙂 🙂 I really can’t believe how much milage I’ve gotten out of that old system. D’you know I’m going 4 years on a single OS install? Heh!
Thanks! I’m very comfy at home and is providing me amazing support and care.
I was prepared for it to be disconcerting: I was warned by the RNs. My Doctor wasn’t gentle with it either.
Hope you’re doing well!
I saw–and I know it lacks context. Which is actually helpful. I think. It took me way too long to strip the questions of context.
That’s what wolverine feels EVERY TIME HE UNSHEATHS HIS ADMANTINE CLAWS!
Think about it.
his pain, I mean
What did your doctor do?
I mean, besides yanking the tube to hard…was he rough elsewhere as well?
ATA 2×133 (up to 4 devices)
SATA 2×150
SATA RAID 0/1
That part is yours to take care of, the rest is all gravy
Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! May it be warm, happy, and healthful.
eewwwwww!! (your drain story) I sincerely hope I never know what you’re talking about, exactly, though my empathy gives me a small clue. I’m glad you’re healing up well and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. =) Looking forward to seeing you guys again!
no he was good – the tube removal was smooth, but faster than I thought – I think there was a certain way to remove it that didn’t really mean comfort.
Ick…
Can I just go back to thinking about him sodomizing Rogue?
Glad you’re home!
Have you succumbed to City of Villlains yet? I’ll be there when we get our 2nd puter next month. I mean, you can make pirates! Arrr!
