Since it was on FARK, many of you have already read

this, but This pulled quote just made me happy with its British character:

Robert Gough, who said he could hear the noise even though he is 34,
described it as “a pulsating chirp,” the sort you might hear if you
suffered from tinnitus. By way of demonstration, he emitted a batlike
squeak that was indeed bothersome.

Indeed.

On the Job

I’m back at work today. Some stuff was done while I was gone and it was done 1) as I would 2)completely and 3)cleanly. Surprised, happy, and valued. Pretty good ways to feel at work, eh?

Perhaps this Monday won’t be so bad after all. I just may not need to take my Vicadin 😉

Home!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes.

I’m now recouperating at home. I arrived home yesterday afternoon after staying a night in the Hospital for observation. I’ve been getting progressively better by the hour. Last night I did get a bit sore, which tells me I over-did it yesterday. Today I’ll be more conservative with my activities.

The Gall Bladder was more inflamed than the doctors had thought and that is why it took longer for my surgery. So thank goodness that disfunctional thing is out of me. My drain (from where they flushed out my insides with saline) was not working properly which is another reason I remained for the night. I had a tube coming out of me. Instead of draining through the tube, I was draining around the tube. This meant frequest bandage changes. No big deal, but a pain for Heather do to instead of the nurses. Yesterday before I left, Dr. Dennis took out the drain and I immediately felt 5x better after it was out. A very strange, painful, and dirty feeling having it removed. Almost passed out from the shock/strangeness of it.

I slept very well last night, though I’m taking a lion’s share of the pillows. Today our friend Leslie from Petaluma is coming up. She is visiting for Thanksgiving. It will be very nice to see her; we haven’t visited since the SF Tiki Crawl this past March. She will be bringing some lovely wines with her, so I’ll try to be off the Vicadin to be able to enjoy them. If not tonight, I’m sure I can be clear of the Big V by tomorrow evening.

Oh, and I had a wonderful surprise from my work – they sent me some flowers as a get well gift. It’s a great arrangement with mother-in-law-tongues, other succulents, orchids, etc. would love it. Perhaps I’ll see if I can get some snapshots of them.

Well, I think I’m off for a mindless day of internet browsing and hopefully some City Of Heroes fun.
(tragedy: My main home system has begun random rebooting again while playing. 🙁 It really is time to get a new workstation. I’m still running a 1ghz CPU with PC133 Memory – a dinosaur computer!)

ta!

Craig Update

This is Heather () posting – Craig left Semagic open, conveniently. In case you don’t read my LJ, here’s the haps:

His surgery went well, though the gallbladder was more swollen than they thought, so it took longer than they expected (and freaked me out). However, he was still feeling nauseated after several hours in recovery, so they have decided to keep him overnight for observation. I just got home.

He seems chipper enough, though, here is a pic of him in his hospital finery:

Still Alive

I’m trying a full day of work today – I the gall bladder removal surgery scheduled one week from today. Weekend was a decent recovery from the episode.

Wish me luck!

PS: — I’ll call mom tonight, so keep it under wraps until then.

1st Time in the Emergency Room

So Tuesday night I start to have some bloating and pain in my solar plexus area (which has happened once or twice in the past 6 moths or so), and I take some gas-x and such to clear it out.

No workie. In fact it gets worse and worse in spite of ibuprofen.

At 5am I decided to go to the hospital.

So after some Morphine and blood work and an ultrasound, it turns out I have gall stones.

Wee! I’ve been on vicadin since, resting at home. Heather is being a dear and taking care of me.

Nov 21st I’m scheduled for surgery to take the worthless thing out. Stupid worthless vestigal organs. Perhaps if these christers would push “Unintelligent Desgin” they just might have a better case.

City of Heroes

So, has picked up playin’ City of Heroes!

Here’s a nice screenshot from a mission last night – We were hangin’ out, chatting while waiting for our endurance to be replenished:

And before you ask, he’s the pink one.

Self Indulgence

We interrupt this lack of LJ entries for an example of why I’m not posting – I generally just want to post bitches and rants and negativity:

God, I fucking HATE Anime.

The negativity won this time. 😉

happy birthday <lj user=”nanne”>

Yippy Skippy for !

It’s his Birthday Today!

Wish I could be there in person to make you a cake or a cheesecake or a drink or something, alas!

Hope it’s a good day, and you’re feeling better in general. I’m thinking good thoughts.
