Mondays are tough.
Insurance companies continue to gouge us, Heating Oil costs have doubled which means broke broke broke.
Perhaps it is time to look for a 2nd job? Most people here have 2 jobs, I suppose it is a requirement in our lovely economy.
It really doesn’t help that >50% of americans would rather say they don’t like fags than to help fix it.
I could also look for a more corporate job – that could solve money issues; that also cancels any idea of going to school to finish the BS.
The answer really may have to lie in moving to a smaller house or an apartment and selling our car (car pmt+insurance is ~$600/mo)
Blah.
Slogging through… 😀
That seems to be the theme of the day.
Odd you should mention this, as shit is really hitting the fan down here with registration and servicing of our various vehicles. Thank goodness I am on leave and don’t need to commute.
I feel for you on the insurance, but why the hell is it so expensive? (Not that it is any of my business.) Are rates just high up there?
I feel you on the school issue, too. I have been trying for the last eight years. The only full semester I finished, was ironically in the middle of a combat zone. And I only got that stuff done because they were 5 week classes.
It does seem to be a recurring theme with everyone I know. Almost as if a god or some manifestation of our collective gloom is sitting on all of our shoulders. Okay, too much thinking, back to denial.
Damn, that sucks.
Oregon rates are high, plus we had a small lapse of coverage, plus it is legal in OR for credit scores to be used in quotes.
= screw the little guy.
Damn we need a NEW New Deal. We need a zombie FDR.
Not to go into problem solving mode, which is not what you need right now–but a coporate job might be the ticket–if they pay your tuition. Re: you are in Boeing country, but LM, for example, reimberses full tuition and books, up to two course per semester.
I found a job at the Goodwill, of all places. I don’t know if it will pay better, but remind me to check it out when I get home tonight. Oh, you should check out Oregon Live–there was tons of stuff.
Yeah – I’m going back to looking for Corp jobs.
Speaking of that, did you see this:

I am no help, but if I could afford you, I would pay you both to come and live in my house and Tiki it up and make me MAI TAIS!!!!! =) (thanks, I had a great time.) =)
I hear ya. I recently realized I’m on the verge of digging myself into a financial hole; I think I figured it out in time, but if I don’t find a job that pays more than $7/hour soon I’m going to be in real trouble. BLAH.
Dude, do I ever hear what you’re saying. Earlier this morning I was contemplating the fact that in some parts of the country I could support a family of four comfortably (though not including trips to europe), while here I can’t afford to have cable, or to replace my broken stereo, or to buy clothes that fit well and are suitable for work. Yeah, lovely freaking economy. I’m debating moving in with a roommate again, and subletting my place. Oh, except that I couldn’t make enough to actually fund my place. Silly me. Bleh. Good luck man…
