Damn I’m always busy it would seem

Had a good TG holiday, though The OC (and soCal) just keeps getting worse (or do I keep getting better?) Too many people, not enough taste. <--- Sums it up. Trying to effect some change here at work is going to be like pulling teeth. And I'm going to need to spend more time on it than user support if I want to be successful. Hard decision, but it is time to think bigger picture for a while. Was hard to get up this morning, but I did it! Weee. Plus I was good enough to unpack my clothes from the suitcase last night, rather than the usual "leave it around forever" routine. Small steps. I really want to get a tree soon! Need to clean first though. All energies into the party in TWO!WEEKS! (and ONLY! ONE! WEEKEND! TILL!) DO NOT PANIC. Oh, BTW it is on the Friday, 10 Dec 2004 from 8:00 - whenever. Get a head start on the celebrating. And I'm trying a new thing: No support website for the party. It's shocking I know. and I are here at PDX and they have free WiFi, and since was nice enough to borrow a laptop for the weekend, that means LJ post!

I even found a power outlet so I’m not running on battery, and the WiFi internet connection is ~800k/s. Not too damn bad. Did I mention it is FOR FREE? 😉

Does anyone know what the Fi stand for in “WiFi?” HiFi is High Fidelity. Is WiFi Wireless Fidelity? 😀

On another geeky note, I tested a connection to my Home network through VPN and it worked like a charm. Quite a bit of GeekLust in sitting here at PDX and surfing the hard drives of my servers at home. Nifty, Indeed.

Well, I think I’ll be off to surf the net while we wait. It is 3:30 and our plane boards at 4:45.

Perhaps I’ll install trillian. 😀

And this is me withought money to purchase said games or money to upgrade a computer to play them with.

Got an A on my 2nd midterm in GEO, which makes 2 A letter grades so far. This afternoon I’ll see what I got on my 2nd Lab Practical (1st was aslo an A).

It is my only class, and it is entry-level geology, but it’s still great to get good marks none the less.

This Monday is a Thursday! 2 day week, yay.

Hello there friday people.

You know, I’ve been surfing www.theonering.net since about ’99, used it for my LOTR movie news and such. We ran into the people who ran it at DragonCon, made friends, worked oscar parties, etc…

Once in a while I still go there (looking for links to what’s in the EE for ROTK, etc..)

But I just can’t understand why it is still around any more, really. They still pump out news – -but it has now gone to whomever worked in LOTR and all their current projects and stuff.

I mean, I just can’t get that level of fandom – that “oh, I’ll go see National Treasure because Boromoir is in it!” I can see if you are a Sean Bean fan (always has to play the 2nd – when is his starring role coming), but you’re not going to frequent a LOTR movie fan site to check up on Sean Bean news if you loooove Sean Bean, are you?

They’re just serioulsy stretching for news items. If they want to turn themselves from a LOTR movie fansite into a more Tolkien-centered fansite, they really need to stop filling up the news stuff…

I don’t know why I keep hitting that site – half out of habit, half out of “opening the fridge and still seeing it’s as empty as before,” I suppose.

I sure miss the promise of a new LOTR movie every xmas.

I try to be nice to iTards becasue it’s not their fault they don’t know they are computer illiterate.

But MUST all agency asshole fuckTards who visit ALSO be iTards?

What is it about arrogance and ignorance that go so hand in hand with iTardedness? I know plenty of Mac preferentialists who are miles from being an iTard; it is not the OS to blame.

Is it just the appeal to the arrogance? Are you handed an SLK, Bose speakers, and a PowerBook when you graduate to Agency Client Rep / Chief Asshole? What the fuck, man?

Do you really need to pretend you are better than others to get through the day?

I know correlation does not equal causation, but EVERY single client who enters our building who treats others like shit and acts like an arrogant asshole has a fucking powerbook under his arm.
