No, no special wiring has yet been done – that aspect is a future improvement.
We’d like to put up orange ropelighting in hollowed out quartered 3″ bamboo at the ceiling line, on a dimmer. This would give a nice ‘sunset’ type glow to the room.

It really came together.
I did find out, however, that I need a bit of more light shining on the bar so I can read drink recipies. I haven’t got the feel and manoeverability of the the new behind the bar space. That should come with practice, I’ll warrant.
Our friend Noel did that sign – Isn’t he amazing? I need to bribe him for more work. Should be easy enough, they have some housework to do (moving into a new place as well), so I can offer assistance there. I do think I already owe him a decent amount of work before I can bring up any new ideas. hehe

We got such a good deal on those small floats – “3 Monkeys,” a keen store was going out of business and they had a bunch of them for $6 ea (usually around $20-30 for that size.
I’m next looking for a puffer fish light to go there. I could always break down and spend the $80.00, but we are too keen to get a bargain.
If the pics have anything to say about it the tiki room kicks ass. It looks like you put a lot of work into it. Was it fun to do?
The only non-fun thing was the Dealine aspect of having to get it all done before this weekend, and the logistics of finding/organizing all the stuff we have to make room for it.
Other than that it was a complete blast.
So fun!!!! And I’m sure David really doesn’t know what kind of zombie you mean, given his ignorance on the whole subject.
