OK, so that didn’t last long.

Quit the barback job. Just couldn’t allow myself to be abused in that manner for that amount of money.

I forgot the toxic nature of food service and the allowed vocal abuse. Ok, Mr. sous chef in a crap kitchen, I’m just supposed to take your fucktacular verbal attacks. Yeah, eat my ass through a collander.

P.S. your chiffonade was clumsy and your putanesca was flat. 🙂

  1. Spite them, spite them madly! Yes!

Sara almost got me city of heroes. Maybe, if I do well on this psychology class….

  2. Clearly someone must deliver us from this madness and not take this sort of abuse. Thank you for stepping up to the challenge. 🙂

  3. OMYGOD we did it with a lime mix (key lime pie) and it was AMAZING!

Here is the recipe (with our changes)

    1 1/2 oz Vanilla Vodka
    1 oz Citrus Vodka
    3 oz Lemon Drop Mix
    Splash 1/2 & 1/2

    Shake and pour.

    Lemon Drop Mix
    ————–
    1 part lemon juice
    1 part Simple Syrup

    Simple Syrup
    ————–
    1 part water
    2 parts granulated sugar

Heat sugar & water to just boiling; remove from heat. When cool, transfer to container.

For the lime mix, just use lime juice and simple syrup (equal parts).

Your typical sour mix (sweet and sour) is 1/2 part lemon, 1/2 part lime, 1 part simple syrup.

We found that the orange juice didn’t jibe well; the lemon-only worked much better.

  4. I am surprised you lasted as long as you did … you are a better man than I !

  5. I knew by the 2nd night it wasn’t for me, and by the 4th night that I’d be giving my immediate termination notice, rather than 2 weeks.

I’ll have to tip more in bars in the future. Those people get nothing but shit from all sides.

  6. Only job in my life that I just walked out in the middle of a shift on was short order cook/waiter.

    Fuck that noise

your chiffonade was clumsy and your putanesca was flat.
    Oh shit.. no you didn’t!

  7. y>>our chiffonade was clumsy and your putanesca was flat.

That is quite possibly the funniest food related thing I’ve ever read.

No one could come close to your putanesca, anyway.

Still, I’m sorry the gig didn’t work for. Try catering. It pays well (relatively), and it’s different people all the time. Where I work, bartenders make $21 an hour. That’s civil hours, and often just pouring beer and wine.

  8. Goddamn! You tell those biznatches.

POKER BACK ON, YO!! Or, preferably from my point of view, COCKTAILS. and soon. right?

  9. I found a local liquor store that carries my personal manna: PYRAT XO rum.

    Gods be praised!

My Mai Tai brings all the drunks to the yard.

  10. Awww sorry to hear that hone!

Still perhaps that means we can talk more often now WEEEEE ^_^

Miss ya! See you in COH ^_^
