Escape to Witch Mountain

Last night and I watched Escape to Witch Mountain, which was a favourite of mine as a kid (and a favourite of ‘s as well.

It was definitely hokey, but I feel it still stood up and I enjoyed it all over again. Now I have a driving need to see Return from Witch Mountain, as well as the 70s live action disney comedies like “No deposit No Return” and the Apple Dumpling Gang movies. Ah, Sunday night’s Disney on ABC. The Shaggy D.A.; and perhaps I should have realized more when I reallly really liked all the disney male leads? Tommy Kirk, Kurt Russel, Ike Issenmann? hehehe

The world is rapt in attention, no doubt

In other news,

I recently found that my tastes have changed and I now enjoy Oysters on the 1/2 shell, where only BBQ oysters were palatable beforehand.

Who knew.

Yes, extremeley important news, this.

😉

(the pic is my at a summer party last year, with oyster BBQ sauce on my nose)

Hi Everybody

I’m falling in love with OKGO all over again

Damin Kulash is so dreamy and his voice just makes me swoon like a wee little girl.
www.okgo.net appears to be down at the moment though.

hm.

Weekend Update

I had a fun weekend, though it was rather sedate.

On Friday night instead of going out, I stayed home and played Baldur’s gate Dark Alliance with Caoilin and made cocktails. Fun.

Then on Saturday there was more Dark Alliance, followed by some old skool gaming in the way of Diablo II. When oh when will we ever get a Diablo III? Or even another company – I know there is Blade and Sword or whatever, I suppose I should check that one out…

On Saturday Night I accompanied to the group Poker night; much much fun was had and I think I ended up marginally ahead, buy the tune of about $5. Fun guys, great ‘taking the piss’ group, can trash talk and speak in movie quotes that I miss.

On Sunday, and Devin and I went to a small bit of Forest Park here in portland. I got some snaps, perhaps I’ll post them – I had a bit of a webpage crisis and lost all the stuff I had on there, need to work on getting that back online. Anyone know of any cheap hosting sites?

I adored forest park: things are just starting to bloom around here, flowers and buds popping, it is fabulous.

Then on Sunday night I had Devin, , Devin’s friend Mary and her daughter Monica over and we played a six-player game of “History of the World” which was a blast, though quite exhausting. I think future games of that many should start earlier and have a break. kicked all our asses by way of playing extremely well, damn him. 😀

So now it’s Monday and I’m working. Hm. At least it’s only 7 days till my sweetie gets home!

random song lyrics

You worry too much / You make yourself sad
You can’t change fate / But don’t feel so bad
Enjoy it while you can / It’s just like the weather
So quit complaining brother . . . . . . .
No one lives forever!!

Let’s have a party there’s a full moon in the sky
It’s the hour of the wolf and I don’t want to die

I’m so happy dancing while the grim reaper
cuts, cuts, cuts
But he can’t get me (I’m as)
Clever as can be, and I’m very quick, but don’t forget
we’ve only got so many tricks
No one lives forever!!!

You think you got it rough / What about your darling
doggy?
Ten short years / And he’s getting old and groggy
I don’t think it’s very fair
Cold, chop, low, but it’s all relative my friend
No one lives forever!!!
Let’s have a party there’s a full moon in the sky
It’s the hour of the wolf and I
Don’t want to die (but) . . .

No one beats him at his game
For very long but just the same
Who cares, there’s no place safe to hide
Nowhere to run–no time to cry
So celebrate while you still can
‘Cause any second it may end.
And when it’s all been said and done . . .
Better that you had some fun
Instead of hiding in a shell-Why make your life a living
hell?
So have a toast, and down the cup
And drink to bones that turn to dust (’cause) . . .
No one, no one, no one, no one . . . . . . . (etc.)
No one lives forever!! (Hey!)

Anniversaries

So today is the 11th anniversary of and my first date. It was a Friday 11 years ago as well. We went to the (now gone) Cafe Figaro (we called it Cafe Fig’s) at the end of melrose (LA), then walked around the fun shops on melrose such as the Bodhi Tree (yes we were Pagan-ish at the time) Soap Plant, Wacko, Le Luz de Jesus, Drake’s (aww yeah), wasteland.

Many of those places are gone or moved now, Melrose looks completely different, we’ve moved as well, twice.

It’s funny that 10 years ago, on our 1st anniversary, Heather was in England and we missed out on celebrating. This year, she’s in England again. So some things still stay the same. Ten years ago I was distraught that she was absent, while now (though I miss her to pieces) she is travelling with my blessing.

Just chatted on the phone, the poor dear is sick as all hell. She and my sister are going to see “Jerry Springer, the Musical” toinght in London, so that should be fun.

Me, I dunno what I’ll do tonight. I really should clean up this house, do some laundry. What is the fun in that though, eh, precious?

I should also be saving money so I should be on the cheap. What fun can be had on the cheap? Movies, PBR, yes, yes.

Anyone have any ideas? Anyone want to hang? I am in a bit of a mood for the drink.

I also need to find a place that has Rocky Horror Karaoke because the world needs to hear my rendition of “I’m going home.” I was born to voice Frank N Furter, even if I crib from the illustrious Mr. Curry.

Someone needs to stop this crazy time machine.
