Weekend Update

I had a fun weekend, though it was rather sedate.

On Friday night instead of going out, I stayed home and played Baldur’s gate Dark Alliance with Caoilin and made cocktails. Fun.

Then on Saturday there was more Dark Alliance, followed by some old skool gaming in the way of Diablo II. When oh when will we ever get a Diablo III? Or even another company – I know there is Blade and Sword or whatever, I suppose I should check that one out…

On Saturday Night I accompanied to the group Poker night; much much fun was had and I think I ended up marginally ahead, buy the tune of about $5. Fun guys, great ‘taking the piss’ group, can trash talk and speak in movie quotes that I miss.

On Sunday, and Devin and I went to a small bit of Forest Park here in portland. I got some snaps, perhaps I’ll post them – I had a bit of a webpage crisis and lost all the stuff I had on there, need to work on getting that back online. Anyone know of any cheap hosting sites?

I adored forest park: things are just starting to bloom around here, flowers and buds popping, it is fabulous.

Then on Sunday night I had Devin, , Devin’s friend Mary and her daughter Monica over and we played a six-player game of “History of the World” which was a blast, though quite exhausting. I think future games of that many should start earlier and have a break. kicked all our asses by way of playing extremely well, damn him. 😀

So now it’s Monday and I’m working. Hm. At least it’s only 7 days till my sweetie gets home!

  1. I suppose it wasn’t fair of me to read up on the game ahead of time. I had a lot of fun though, and not just because I won. It’s a very good strategy game, and it plays to my love of history and alternate history.

It did start to feel long around epoch VI. I think five players is probably the ideal number. And we could probaby cut the game length down by learning to play at a brisker pace. I know I have room to improve.

  2. Oh, it was fair enough, we were just ribbing you for the fun of it.

I think 5 players would make (for) a better game.
