Work is too boring, more posting! – Peppermintini

So Heather and I have a Peppermint Martini that we have crafted, and has helped us name it a “Peppermintini” (if yous ask nicely, I may post the magic recipe).

One day in the middle of December, after H took a sip out of hers, she got an idea to take snaps. Immediately, I made space and cleared a table, and these are the results. I’m very fond of them. I forget who took which snap, though – I think H did the directly over the glass ones. At any rate, here they are:

Another from above, with a flash (I love the alcohol legs on the glass, a bit posterized in Pshop):

With the fun watercolour filter and figiting in Pshop (I am planning to attempt to paint this in acrylc on a large square canvas):

I love this angle:

And the last, similar angle:

the last one I like a bunch, now I want to make one!

  1. Craig & Heather’s ‘Peppermintini’

    1 part Peppermint Schnapps
2 parts Absolut Vanilla (sung to the tune of Bowie’s absolute beginners)
1/4 to 1/3 part Simple Syrup (to take the harsh of the schnapps out)

Separately, mix 1/8 cup of fine sugar and few drops red food colour. Coat rim of coktail glass with sugar.
Shake WELL (enough for chips to form) in shaker with ice, serve up in cocktail glass. Garnish with starlight mint and miniature candy cane on side.

Simple Syrup is exremely easy to make and will be great in many cocktails in case you’ve never used it before.

  2. Problem is getting them to stick, then look appealing. When they are crushed enough to look appealing (which is a chore), they don’t really look like crushed candycanes anymore. 😀

  3. Well your just going for red and white right? Sugar with food coloring on half of it, then striped, (think of lines of cocaine), then press down the rim.

    Should work

  4. those look awesome, especially the second pic. it looks like it should be another of my red/black/white icons. 😉
