Weee!

Couldn’t find patch cable for guitar, picked up crap (but working one), guitar came through move OK. I picked up a stand before the move and it works nicely. Now I have the Geetar and hand’s grasp right next to this laptop. Hehehe

I just need to find someone to teach me now. Music is not new to me, bet electic geetars are. Time to hit craig’s list or some music stores for lessons, I suppose.

Still, anyone in the PDX area know someone who would like to show some licks to a n00b?

brought me a beer – 4:00 and [slighty] working tipsy. Shh. don’t tell the boss.

Funny coincidences and chances taken

H and I found the local Peet’s coffee downtown (Aaaaah, Peet’s). I needed to get me some coffee beans – Safeway by us has peets in bags but I needed it straight from the source, and I also wanted to check out the local store to me.

So’s I go in and behind the bean counter is this amazingly hot guy (ok, easy to find in Portland). I notice him looking at me a bit, don’t know why, so I thought “hm. interesting.” I maneuver so that he will be serving my bean counter request and he asks me, “So, is this you first time in Peet’s?” A strange question, no? I say “this Peet’s, yes, but I’ve been to others.” He says “Where?” I say “In the bay area, I just moved.” He says “Where from?” I say “Petaluma.” He says ” Heh, I just moved from Petaluma in Oct.” Funny coincidence.

So perhaps he was looking at me because I looked familiar, or maybe there was more. We leave and I agonize over not saying more or giving info or anything, so after a bit of retail therapy (found this amazing shearling denim coat at fossil for CHEAP), I gird my loins, go back to the store and give him my phone and email address, if he ever wants to hang out or anything (seeing as it is a funny coincidence that we are from Petaluma, and how I don’t know a lot of people in the area)

So that’s the first time I gave an anonymous cute boy my contact info out of the blue. I played it cool, but damn was I nervous.

And I’m not looking for anything either, just to have another friend to hang with or chat, fun and all – My gaydar is broken likely anyway, heh. It doesn’t matter to me *too* much if he doesn’t call or anything — I’m still basking in my courage to actually do something that I wanted, the fact that I overcame my fear. Yay me.

11 noms

If I were Andrew Lesnie, I’d be pissed for being passed over on cinematography. Also, No sean or elijah or viggo or andy for supporting.

Still 11 noms is nice, It would be nice for the adrenaline rush on the night of the oscars to get a majority of those wins. Especially since we’ll be helping out with the TORN oscar party again this year. Maybe I’ll get to touch Sir Ian again! 🙂

Cold Mountain kinda got dissed (apart from acting nods).

I think it’s cool Ngilla is up for both LOTR and Samurai costume awards.

well, back to work…

Weekend Update

Friday:

Saw Bubba Ho-Tep with . Movie was great (glad I paid $3 though, due to the ‘b’ nature of it) Hail to the king, baby.

Saturday:

Oh, What a blast! and I went up to Vancouver, WA to a group-birthday party for and others of her zodialogical ilk. Met a bunch of new friends, had some quality beverages (hooray for steel reserve; I somehow avoided the ‘flaming Dr. Pepper — is that lucky or unfortunate?). The place was loaded with awesome midcentury modern piece finds. I had difficulty restraining my jealousy over a number of the light fixtures. 🙂 Fun, Fun, Fun. Thanks again, I hope to see you guys again in the near future. Everybody was so cool and nice and fun. 😀
Then we absconded with (I can’t resist a trip to Boxxes/Red Cap Garage/ etc, it had been far too long). Met ‘s Had many drinks and fun there. Next time I need to get on the dance floor though, perhaps after I get on the WW wagon + exercise again. Can’t help but feel far too flabby to be there (yes, I need to get over that, blah, blah, blah). Still so. much. fun.
Best Saturday in ages.
Also, promises from for hot-tub/karaoke/movie/hang-out night. Name the date, baby! It’ll be fun to chat on a more focused level.
Note to self: MUST get Tiki Room up and running as soon as possible. Need to throw own party toote-sweet.

Sunday:

Four out of motherfucking Four. LOTR rocks the ‘globes. Deeeelicious. Though I ate bad food and had bad tummy ache. No more bad food! Only Fennel Twig tea, darling!

Busy weekend ahead

Busy weekend planned, YAY!

Tonight we are hangin with – going to see Bubba Ho Tep, probably dinner and such. Fun! (, let’s plan the particulars – dinner before? will we be too tired after?

Saturday night we’re going to a party for celebrating a bunch of birthdays and included (ED: actually, is merely hosting, I sit corrected). Haven’t met any of them in person, so I’ll have to be on my best behaviour. I hope they like sillyness and monkeys.

Sunday is gaming with Devin and the Pre-award show cattiness!

Hooray, only the third weekend in portland and we’re booked up!

What’s cooler than bein’ cool?

Ok, I’m the last on this bus, but I’ve finally found the artist for a song I’ve been heavily loving (without irony). Yes, it’s mainstream and all over the place, but I don’t care cause it gets my b00ty a moovin’

It’s “Hey Ya” by Outkast. Oh boy do I love it. Bounce, bounce, bounce.

On a more “respectable” commonality, the new Basement Jaxx album “Kish Kash” is superb.

ICE COLD.

OMG

Cliff Yablonki has updated! 1-14-04 baby..

These updates are so far and in-between, that I amost don’t want to look so I can save em. Ration them. No use, I’ll be a glutton!

I love Cliff!

Weee!

I’m as happy as a pig in p00p. Fed-Ex finally brought my monitor and docking station (though the monitor is heavly [cosmetically] damaged) today. I can now work at a decent resolution and use a mouse! No more damn touch pads. God I hate touchpads – their only saving grace is that I prefer them to the little eraser thingie.
