Oh, If everyone is over-worked and supposedly all chaff has been cut at work, WHY DO I HAVE TO DEAL WITH STUPID LAZY BASTARDS WHO DON’T DO THEIR WORK?

I can answer that. You have mixed up your definition of “chaff”, in this instance, “employees who cannot or will not do their work competently and on time” with the company’s definition of “chaff”, which is doubtless something along the lines of, “people unrelated to me or anyone I owe favors to, who don’t kiss my ass enough”.
I was just assuming that “chaff” meant “a random sampling of employees.” It usually means that, except when it means “our most experienced employees.” Occasionally it means “employees who recognize bullshit.” Let’s face it, the chaff just weren’t team players.
