I am tired of supposed liberals and progressives that continue to forget that the ends never justify the means.
As a wise old fictional friend of mine said, “..even the very wise cannot see all ends.”
You cannot know for sure the outcome of your means, (scientific method sure gives us the best possibility of predicting outcome), but you cannot be sure (enought for you to suspend your judgement to do something against your personal code of ethics).
This leaves us with following the best path, best choice at the time, fighting the good fight, doing what you think is right. One cannot suspend better judgement or principals because “they deserve it,” or “it will be better in the end.”
Wrong (I mean your personal definition, your personal values, not a concrete reality) is wrong is wrong.
Fight the good fight, do the right thing, DON’T PUT ON THE RING!
Damn, I think I’m becoming an Atheist Christian.
Is the whose old fictional friend who I think it is? Pointy hat and all? 😉
You reproduced the old color scheme I had on my computer for years!
I was trying to get all Pumpkiny — with the high holy day coming soon and all. I’m still not 100% happy with the orange, a touch more red would be nice.
And yeah, Gandalf’s speech in Bag End. (In the movie, it was transplaced to Moria, but you know dat.)
Oddly… I agree with you, dude. Very rare when it comes to “politicky stuff” with us. 🙂
Hmmm…
Completely unrelated, but did you see that Tim & I are game publishers! The Gatecrasher stuff is all ours, and we are members of the Game Publishers Association!
I’ve always held that our preconceptions and personal ethics are very close, the details and particulars sometimes screw that up, though 😀
I think that is super cool about the game system, do you guys have a website yet?
I agree… I think our personal ethics are pretty close.
It’s http://www.domibia.com
