I was wondering when Apple records realized Apple computer broke it’s own promise not to enter the Music business..
I don’t really care what occurs, but I would giggle to see Apple Computer get slapped around just for the chaos of confusion and disturbance it would cause the iTards. How I love to enjoy upset iTards. I dont’ worry about flames here, though, since this post is not in the Chicago font, the iTards won’t be able to read it!
😀
Dude.
iTards?
You realize, of course, that I fall under that category, yes?
You realize, of course, that OS X is heads and tails above *ANY* operating system Microsoft will *EVER* put out, yes?
You further realize that the Apple Music Store is a great answer to the whole RIAA/KaZaA situation, yes?
Well, you certainly are displaying symptoms of iTardery. Three-fingered circuit-board licking.
And this has nothing to do with Micro$oft Loonix, Apple itself, but about the lack of a universal aelsthetic.
Oh, and blaspheming against those who believe in any monoplatformism.
Still, you aren’t yet in iTardism’s hold: You could read this even though it is likely in Times New Roman (New York for some) 😀
Guy Kawasaki indeed.
Or maybe arial? Modern? Tahoma?
The Apple store is either the dumbest thing Apple has ever done, or the cleverest coverup of all time! All you need is a little math as evidence!
Newest iPod = 30 GB Storage
Cost of single Song = (averaging 3mb in mp3 format)
Cost to fill 30 GB iPod with songs from Apple Store = $10,000
That’s ridiculous…. the iPod is made for pirates, and the Apple Store is just a cover up!
Of course, one could argue back that the costs of store bought CD’s are roughly equivalent, but any yuppy who spouts such irrelevancies deserves a duck in the nostril.
Cheers!
iTards… I absolutely love it. I think I’m going to use it from now on!
Though, to clarify (since you’ll use the term), it only applies to the Zealot Mac Users. I myself like OS X and am happy to see someone bring a nice desktop to a Unix system.
You can spot iTards by their lack of humour: It is replaced by hubris.
And just how is "we’re better than Microsoft" any kind of defense? I’ve seen things dead along the road that are heads and tails above anything Microsoft wiill ever put out, and they don’t require 128 megs of ram to open a damned text file.
Hmm. Well, I certainly don’t believe in monoplatformism, however, my experience (as a Microsoft sysadmin) is leading me to believe in non-Microsoftplatformism. 🙂
Honestly, if I had all the budget in the world and could redesign my entire network, I’d nail down Linux servers with OS X clients.
“we’re better than Microsoft” is not my defense.
The strength of the operating system, when compared to MS operating systems, IS, however.
Not only is it much more stable and secure, but WAY more efficient as well. Obviously you are completely mistaken with your 128mb of RAM for a text file system requirement; my parents are currently running OS X on a 1ghz G4 with 128mb RAM and have no problem – they have yet to figure out the different resolutions on their digitial camera, and routinely manipulate the 1600×1200 (or higher) pixel images it creates. I ran on the same platform for nearly half a year, and I am working on some serious desktop publishing and PDF creation (granted, I have since upgraded to 512mb RAM). My brother is running OS X on a 333mhz G3 machine, and he does Photoshop *all the time* (he’s a professional comic book artist).
So, perhaps you should check your facts a bit, eh?
Ok, ok. I will admit there is a LOT of Apple zealots.
I generally laugh at them as much as I do Microsoft zealots. And Linux zealots.
Sorry, my definition of "needing x megs of ram" must be a little out of date, or at least not iTardish enough. I mean “needs 128 megs of ram without running into virtual memory.” My friends who are rational OS X users usually say, "Yeah, yeah." and then shut up. These people, by the way, canfigure out different resolutions on their digital cameras and do more of what you might call "cutting edge" graphics work, as they are UC Berkeley researchers.
I have nothing against Macs in general. I’ve got an SE, a Centris, and a PowerBook G3. I’m aware that idiots can use them to do great things, and while "idiots can use them" is a great metric for UI design, it’s a lousy one for efficiency.
Anyhow, I’m not really expecting to win you over. This post is clearly for my own amusement.
Uhm… not to be argumentative, but I’ve seen Windows machines with more RAM run into VM quicker than OS X.
Please understand, I’m a long time Windows user – I remember installing Windows 2.0 on a Tandy machine back in my Radio Shack days (which, no, I am not proud of, heh). I am currently a Windows network administrator – I manage about 15 Windows servers, from NT 4.0 through 2000 (no 2003 servers yet).
So yeah, no, you aren’t going to “win me over”. I just got “won over” to OS X, having been filled to the brim with Microsoft OS crap. The only thing that forced me to switch was OS X – OS 9 and below were crapitty crap crap. But OS X is, IMHO, the best operating system available for the desktop.
Not sure about OS X server yet, have to test that. For the server, I say Linux. But that’s just me, being all sorts of tired of MS specific virii and security alerts and crappy OS design.
But think of the children who have to surf the intarweb with their TRS-80s!
Oh, wait I’m sorry, GNU/intarweb with their GNU/TRS-80s.
What would you use for directory services, or central user administration?
I call it the imagined inferiority complex.
Or chock it up to either-or fallacy, mixed with some ad-hominem.
Kind of like how Pepsi has to mention Coke in their advertising.
iTards are funny like that.
No Yuo
Funny you should mention that… I actually have two 16k Level II TRS-80 Model I computers. They both actually work, one of them I actually had setup a few weeks back.
🙂
Cool. Someone has actually written a TCP/IP stack for a C64 and has a webserver compiled.
Now that’s Geektastic.
Microsoft Zealots are redundant (and usually boring), though there are quite few actually extant: Most are mis-labelled by other Zealots by merely stating a preference.
Loonix Loosers (still haven’t found a good collective term) are just stinky. Serious Gamer-Butt. This should be manditory.
iTard however is the best. Collective. Ever. It so sums up the cult of Apple Zealots, who mirror many of the behaviours I find so annoying in other areas where a group proclaims to have objective knowledge over (a) media/medium, such as the current (i)literati at the heads of English literature, or art critics, etc.
fun to poke the hot air baloons.
Dude! I have about 6 C64s! A C64 was my first computer (because NO ONE considers a Timex/Sinclair 1000 a “real” computer) – I love those things.
Not only have they a TCP/IP stack and browser, but someone has created a UN*X implementation for it called… eh… LuG 64 or something.
That’s super keen.
