Tiki Oasis III

I’m really starting to get excited about our trip next weekend to Tiki Oasis III at The Caliente Tropics in Palm Springs.

I may actually start bouncing. Hard.

This will be a real vacation. At a resort. With good food and drink and fun people.

I can’t wait, but then it will be over too soon, no doubt.

Still,

This was too fun – I had to take it.

Wee

So I drove in a parade!

Butter and eggs, baby, butter and eggs.

I drove a float full of 2-3 year olds in chicken costumes. Seriously. I only slammed on the brakes and sent them tumbling once. Ok, it was twice — but the brakes were touchy! Honest!

After my part of the parade, , , and our neighbors Greg and Leslie proceded to have beer and food at the street faire portion. We also visited local Bars “Andreeson’s” and “The Hideaway” which I had yet to enjoy. Enjoy them I did. Played sucky pool and everything.

On Sunday, we stocked up the bar and rented some films – “Big Trouble” was funny as hell, shame it didn’t do better in the theatres. “Slackers” was nice too, but not enough with the Laura Prepon.

It is Monday, so I should get to work. *Sigh*

Back

Back from three days in Southern California.

Easter in Orange County

How could I have possibly come from that? The degree of plastic and mediocrity knew no bounds.

I swear I don’t remember that level of g0d-crap either – disgusting! I almost I thought I was in some back-water hick town with a group IQ of 12. Oh, wait, I was – they just happen to have some degree of money.

If I go back again, it’s Disneyland only.

So we flew back (plane delayed, luggage late to get to baggage pick-up) and proceded immediately to the Castro for Dinner and the 46th SF International Film Festival’s screening of “The Old Naughty Days” — Vintage porn in the Casto Theatre. Ahhh. Much Better.

Why can’t we make our own country? Frikkin’ Amurricans.

Soooo happy to be home. My enclave of sophistication and culture. Ahhhhh. I’m soaking in it.

Weekend

So it was a wild weekend.

Friday night and I decide to go out to the city, we meet our friend Raphael at Sparky’s, then head to Moby Dick, another bar, then finally the Cafe.

We met these adorable bois Milo and Derrek and I drank FAR TOO MUCH. I had no Idea I was drinking this much. I usually am very good at gauging my inebriation, but somehting went awry, and I was sick sick sick sick. Poor had to help and put up with me which was very nice of her.
I think we shall no more use Sparky’s as a jumping off point when $1 beers are on the table. I just cannot drink as much as I used to, it is a shame. 🙁

And didn’t even get to dance.

Then on Saturday I spent much time recouperating. Ugh. Saturday night saw our neighbor’s 45th Birthday party which was nice – I did not drink 🙂 – the evening proceded withough large !drama! which was very good.

Sunday we helped other friends move for a while, then our Washer broke.

It’s Monday and I don’t feel like I had a weekend at all. 🙁

ok so boring

Yesterday saw a frustrating day, I was trying to get NT4 server on this compaq dl380 that would not comply! I couldn’t find any newer install media than NT4 server SP1 (ew), and it kept blue screening on me during install, Compaq’ “smart start” was giving me shit. I eventually found the culprit — bad drivers for the NIC. Still got blue screen. Poopie.

So I rethought and hoped I could do w2000 (building recovery server for exchange 5.5). So I did dual boot for 2000, installed fine, 5.5 fine, started restore this morning. Yay.

In other news there are many projects coming up – mail rerouting, novell file moves, AD optimization, etc.

Not to mention all the day-to-day crap and stuff.

Non-Work:

Due to my frustrating day (ended decently, though), , and I decided to go out for dinner. We went to my favourite Sushi place on a whim and ended up picking up the bill! THANKS, !! 😀

Came back, made cocktails (I did Hurricanes in tumblers), our neighbor came over and we watched the TV till we were tired and kicked em out. Sleepy bed time, yay.
