So, I decided to get myself MCSE Certified.
I’ve been adminsitering NT long enough (I thought) to be able to read books and take the tests and get the damn MSCE. Regardless of the “paper MSCE” thing, it still looks good on a resume and opens doors in rough economies. And it is a symbol of accomplishment.
This morning was my first test, 70-270 “Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional”
I passed. 🙂 Yay, me.
So now I am a “Microsoft Certified Professional” – If I wanted to be pretentious (which I usually, do) I could put “MCP” after my name. I think that’s a bit much, but I’m really happy about taking this first step.
Wee! One test down, six to go!

Hooray!
to get certified in Win2k. Fun filled two-weeks of cramming and test taking. A few of the tests are pretty tough. The AD design and the AD migration tests spring to mind as the trickiest on the first run through.
If you want an idea of what the questions are really like go find yourself some decent braindumps. I guy who calls himself Vader does really good ones.
Good luck!
i’m looking at doing that to one degree or another myself — the biggest thing holding me back, as usual, is the cost of the courses and the tests. as it is, i could get that MCP for Windows XP now, if i could afford the exam…
::grump:: i hate being skint.
A giggle for those of us who remember the big evil computer from Tron. MCP. The Master Control Program.
congratz!!!
Hey anything you can add to a resume nowadays is a good thing.
