Yes, I’m sure it’s a great movie and deserves recognition, but let me be the first this morning to say:
Fuck “Chicago” in the ass with a big rubber dick.
That is all.
I’m rooting for “The Hours.”
No costume nom for TTT? WTF? God damn Hollywood nepotism and xenophobia.
and no “adaptation” for Best Picture either?
Fuck “Chicago,” man.
Stupid musicals. I hate musicals. I hate Richard Gere.
TT really really should have had more nominations. Damn Hollywood anyway.
I don’t mind there were few noms for TTT, only that the places where it shined brightly (costumes) was completely overlooked. I mean, I’ll take costumes in exchange for editing.
Not to mention makeup! Grr.
Hollywood loves its own, it is a closed club. How else can one explain Titanic?
You can’t explain it. It’s one of those travesties that no one can ever understand. I’m blaming zombies eating people’s brains.
(For the record, I have never ever seen Titanic, and I’m so proud of that fact.)
Whew! I’m not the only one who hasn’t seen it!
We should make an edited version of Titanic, without all the talking. Just the good parts (the costumes and Kate’s boobs).
Can’t say I have either. Have no desire to. Heh.
Can I be a stand-in for “big rubber dick”? I mean we are talking Catherine Zeta Jones here…
I liked Titanic, and, didn’t you tell us we shouldn’t be proud of not doing things?
Now, I’m not defending Hollywood for it’s imbecilic Oscar nominations, I’m just saying that some people actually like some big, Hollywood movies…
I liked Chicago, too…and I fucking loathe musicals…
I like the Hours, also…
You most certainly can be the stand in – I wouldn’t fuck Ms. zeta-jones with a stolen dick.
Ok, maybe I would but I’d have to steam clean myself afterwards, since she has the stink of old man on her. Though marrying Mr. Old as the hills sure paid off for her career!
And I’m sure I’ll enjoy “Chicago” once their is some space between it and the oscar. I can’t stand the academy’s spoogefest after the marketing fest of the distributor. Disgusting.
So I don’t really blame the movie per se, but the correlations tarnish the hell out of it – I’m glad I didn’t know about shakespeare in love’s marketing fest – it would have ruined the experience for me.
I’m bummed that Andy Serkis didn’t get any kind of a nod for his work on Gollum. I thought he was brilliant.
