Weekend of fun

Saw “Day and Night” at the Geary St. A.C.T. theatre on Friday night with , , , , and two others known as Nari and Chris.
Play was good, though I didn’t think the director/cast really understood the dialogue as they barked it. They were good, but the delivery bothered me – plus it seemed a bit sophmoric compared to other Stoppard. I’m being overly critical, because I liked it – just thought it could have been much better.

Walked around downtown Petaluma on Saturday with and , had brunch, etc. In the afternoon drove up from San Jose (bringing gifts of chocolate and hummus and pita.. yummmm). We had a fire on the beach and watched an episode of Firefly.

Sunday was a lazy day, though I worked for about 4-5 hrs on a file move project remotely while the other three went to the Marin Headlands.

And now it’s Monday again. Weeee!

Blah

It’s Friday, but I have a case of the Mondays.

Does anyone know where I can unload a case of the Mondays?

Tonight is the Stoppard play in the city with , , and others. Looking foward to that.
Then we entertain for two days, then its back to the ol’ grind.

Dentist

I’m back from the dentist.

The abstinence worked! No pain, fully working Novocaine. 2 fillings in, only took 1 hour.

Yay me.

Now how will I celebrate this? Hmmmmmmm?

The week of HELL

I’m single-handedly moving everyone this week in my company from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000.

I’ll be cranky and busy.

I’ll gladle accept naked pictures of cute people for moral support.

Weee

Still in San Diego

Watched “Birds of Prey” last night on WB, most of it whilst on the phone with who was at home in Petaluma.

Whooo doggies was it horrid. I had no preconceptions going in, but I never thought it would be that bad. I actually enjoyed it for the humour value of mocking it. It was like watching the lesbian fantasy of a 9th grade Mormon with retarded (in the ‘ungrown/undeveloped’ sense) sexuality.

The Huntress actor was soo bad I couldn’t stop myself from laughing at her delivery – It’s like her lines were a bug on her skin that she had to get off as soon as posible. Dina was decent as batgirl, at least she knew how to deliver dialogue (kinda). Hopefully they’ll get better.

At least they’re all (relatively) nice to look at, even the poor blond whose head was stuck in box and came out all square – she seems to come from the same branch of the tree as Meena Suari with the chihuahua-head syndrome.

Can’t we get at least one cute guy on the show? Would that be too much to ask? Probably would ruin the producer and directors “All-Girl-Action” fantasies.

Lots of Ho-Yay! on this one, glad that the other side can have their very own slashville to watch, and I have another bad show to mock! Weee! Too bad it probably won’t last.

SUPERGIRL SLUMBER PARTY!

San Diego

Hey now!

I’m in San Diego this week on a business trip.

There must be something exciting to do in San Diego. I’m not talking about the zoo or any day thing like that – I’m working 10 hr days here – I’m looking for excititng night life. I checked out the University Ave./North Park area last night. SNOOZE.

I think there is a Tiki bar/restaurant that is a hit in SD somwhere, perhaps I’ll have to look it up.

I guess when you are used to San Francisco nightlife, you get snobby and picky?

The hotel only has a dial-up connection so no fun doing anything there but sleeping & reading – I did finish T.A. Shippey’s “J.R.R. Tolkien: Author of the Century” though. It’s a fabulous read for those interested in the exciting world of the fight between the established view of what literature is and the death of philology, as well as those interested in the creative impulses of JRRT. Plus Shippey is a hoot to read — having met & spoken to him, I can glean his tone and it raised my enjoyment of the book to imagine Tom’s jumping and hand movements as I read.

It’s almost 8 and time for my daily ops meeting. Weee!

Wee!

In a bit of a money crunch, found out I have to go to the San Diego office for next week.
I’ll be covered for the trip with the coporate card and all, but more stress wasn’t really needed. I’ll cope, though!
October is here and with it comes promise of good weather (I’m a freak who likes cold and rain) and good food (autumn spices, pumpkin).
In a chipper mood, which confuses me. 😀
