Hey now!
I’m in San Diego this week on a business trip.
There must be something exciting to do in San Diego. I’m not talking about the zoo or any day thing like that – I’m working 10 hr days here – I’m looking for excititng night life. I checked out the University Ave./North Park area last night. SNOOZE.
I think there is a Tiki bar/restaurant that is a hit in SD somwhere, perhaps I’ll have to look it up.
I guess when you are used to San Francisco nightlife, you get snobby and picky?
The hotel only has a dial-up connection so no fun doing anything there but sleeping & reading – I did finish T.A. Shippey’s “J.R.R. Tolkien: Author of the Century” though. It’s a fabulous read for those interested in the exciting world of the fight between the established view of what literature is and the death of philology, as well as those interested in the creative impulses of JRRT. Plus Shippey is a hoot to read — having met & spoken to him, I can glean his tone and it raised my enjoyment of the book to imagine Tom’s jumping and hand movements as I read.
It’s almost 8 and time for my daily ops meeting. Weee!
Only has a dial-up connection? Razzle frazzle mutter contries with infrastructure mutter razzle frazzle. We’ve never had better than a dial-up connection…
Yes. You live in Ireland. Kwitcherbichin.
“Kwitcherbichin.”
Yoink
It’s not San Diego that’s supposed to be exciting. It’s Mexico. 🙂
Try the Gaslamp Quarter (according to the web page “It’s eight blocks long (from Broadway to Harbor Drive) and two blocks wide (from Fourth to Sixth Avenues)”). It’s sometimes fun – I’m not sure about a week-night though. The trolley goes right by there and there’s an excellent sushi restaurant that I think is called Nippon – on 4th. 🙂
Stop working so much and pick up a sailor!
