Why?
As a fad and genre it makes my eyeballs sweat. Yuck.
I’m sure I’d like a good movie even if it were Anime (I’m interested in cowboy bebop for the music), but the automatic association of geek/computer person == Anime fan gets quite tiring after a while.
It’s a personal issue, not to worry – just like everyone IRL assuming you are christian/straight when you are not, everywhere you see things christian it starts to bug due to it’s pervasiveness.
Not wanting to cause a big stir, just wishing I could filter it out somehow.
And no, I don’t want to see Spirited Away. 😉 Nothing personal, just a matter of taste.
1) It’s not a genre by any means. It’s a medium.
2) Okay.
I guess it all seems so similar in style to me, I’ve always considered it a complete subset. Replace Genre with Medium.
I guess one can’t like everything!
Feh, Nevermind… I’m just a pissy old bitch.
That’s why I figure you haven’t seen any of the stuff with any redeeming qualities. *g* But that’s okay. If we all liked everything, we’d be boring. (AND poor!)
hehehe
I don’t like anime either, and have been very closeted and embarrassed about it. I mean I’ve watched quite a bit of it at this point, and have yet to figure out why people like it so much…
Don’t out me…
