Heather and I greeted our friend Blair who just returned from his initiation into the National Guard – he was away for 7 months or so. Nice to see he hasn’t been to screwed up by the sausage factory of the military, and that the experience was a good thing ™ for him.
He’ll be staying with us for a while and going to college to get certifcates in EMT and fire prevention/management etc.
Last night we figured that among us, we have lost a total of about 135 lbs. So we lost almost more than a person’s worth of weight. Wee!
Work sucks as because of my colleage being on vacation (and another being laidoff wednesday) I have been doing the jobs of 3 (actually, since our UNIX admin was laidoff as well, 4) people these past few days and I while I am generally good about stress, I am definitely burning out a bit now.
But my colleague comes back Monday, so it should be back to relative normal soon enough.
blah.
I think shotguns are on sale at WalMart…
Uh oh! Thoughtcrime!
Wet work is the avenue of the amateur. I prefer methods of revenge that the target not only doesn’t realize is revenge, but believes that is in his/her best interest and brings to fruition him/herself.
And evenmoreso when I can be free and open about my involvement and influence, because my impace will be regarded as “doing the right thing.”
It’s really altruism, I asure you.

Really the “shotguns are on sale” is my own little private joke from when I was working (basically) in a call center in ohio. They fired one guy for trying to work around their crappy firewall to do things on the internet while there were slow periods and he made the comment to management that “My last check will be 300 dollars, shotguns are on sale at K-Mart for 200.”
This was before columbine, so he got away with it without being locked up. I always thought it was amusing. The VP was skittish for days after that. He jumped whenever the door slammed too hard.
How did you lose all that weight?
National Guard used to not be that militaristic, though it might be scary if all the wannabe military survivalist live out their fantasies…. oooo oooo.
By the time-true method of eating responsibly and exersising 😉
Weight watchers point system for learning to eat properly (and haveing a math-based system to keep track of my food intake)
Daily exercising at lunchtime at the YMCA near my work, I can do it at lunchbreak, and my cow-orker goes with me, so it’s a fun peer activity.
I’ve gone down about 50lbs in 6 months.
