Absent-mindedness, unfinished projects.

I think the biggest issue I have with my own behaviour is with unfinished projects. I like the creation, idea and magic of new projects and plans, but usually stall when it comes to implementation.
I’m trying to be better, and I think I am getting better – Weight loss, party plans, etc…

My next job to conquer is to actually see through this reading journal plan of mine, so without further ado, my (currently LoTR) Reading Journal goes by . All are welcome to view it.

I hope I don’t let this one fall away. I’d really love to have it to look back on when I have it completed.

Monday

Back at work, it steenks.

Trying to think of anything interesting that I did over the weekend… hmm.

I’m planning on making another jounal for a “Reading Journal” — I began to re-read LOTR ( my one and only ‘bible’ of books) yet again last year and keep a journal as I read through it, making notes on how each part touched my life, inspired my philosophy, and changed me as a person. Also, I would be able to see how those changes have in turn changed as the years have gone by. I first read LOTR between my junior and senior year of High School, some 13 years ago. I did a couple of chapters last year, but then stopped and (typically Craig-like) forgot about it.

Well, this LJ thing made me think — I could go back to my real journal, post-date and transcribe, and start the read again. This time, I’ll use another LJ for it, and when I have gone through LOTR, I can move on to other books.

Would anyone be interested in reading such? I’d have it open for others to comment, it might be fun. I’m really doing this for myself, but It might be an interesting thing.

Never Winter Nights

I got sucked in and got NWN last night. It’s quite fun, and I am very happy with it. I really can’t wait to get it on a LAN to test out the GM (I REFUSE to use the term DM) client, as well as try to craft some of my own little modules.
Fun fun fun fun fun.

AIDS WALK

Hi Everyone,

On Sunday, 21 July, I will be walking in the San Francisco AIDS walk.

Please do not feel any obligation whatsoever, but I would like to solicit any sponsorship that you can help me with. All donations are fully tax-deductible and go towards a fabulous cause. No amount is too small.

Thank you in advance for your support and caring.

I had monday off, and it’s only Thursday?

Hm. Damn time vortexes.

I’m meeting for lunch today at the ranch, then open racquetball after work.

The weekend is full of SF fun – Friday Night it is a midnight showing of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” done RHPC style, Saturday we sail on the bay on Lucas’ Yaght the “seawalker,” Dance in the city at night and Sunday is AIDS walk.

busy busy busy

Blah

More work nonsense – They are switching our all the corporate printers/faxes/copiers and replacing them with all-in-one canon devices, so I get to do the printserver part of it – not a big deal on my end, but I so dislike working as a resource to someone else’s project.

Also more work to be done with impending merger stuff here, not very difficult, but more on my plate.

I FORGOT TO BRING MY AIDSWALK THING TO WORK again. This means I have 2 days to come up with donations for Sunday. Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit. I suppose it is my fault for signing up for it when I knew I wouldn’t have much time to gather donations. I hate not being able to blame my problems on other people — thinking with a critical and fair mind is a burden sometimes. 🙂 hee hee.

Ran father today than I have in the past — about 2 miles (but much slower). I am definitely feeling the benefit of a regular workout schedule healthwise. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this good (apart from the occasional gas and bloating from a more vegetarian diet…)

I think H and I really need to find some more eccentric friends around this area to hang with & stuff. I realized after this last party that while I am sure most of our friends find us quirky or fun, I don’t think anyone of them really “gets” us – I suppose I don’t want to be the only couple doing wacky crazy things for fun. But then again, would I resent the competition? I don’t think that I would.

I also need a Nature-Based vacation soon. As bilbo would say, I need to see mountains again — real mountains. I’m not yet to the not enough butter on too much bread state, but I certainly don’t want to let it get to that.

OK! off to lunch!!! bye!

So I did a dumb thing while at lunch today. With the car wash/clean/wax/detail package I got, I received a free lunch at Chevy’s across the street. So I went and had a light lunch of veggie fajitas. I placed my fork down on the plate while I ate the first fajita I made and then picked up the fork to have some rice.
For those of you already thinking ahead. YES I PLACED THE FORK ON THE HOT FAJITA SIZZLING METAL PLATE.
The end of the fork was a little warm, but I did not notice UNTIL I PLACED IT BETWEEN MY LIPS that the other end of the fork was burning hot.

SIZZLE

OUCH

I now have partially cooked lips. They don’t hurt as much as I thought they would – most likely because I cooked the nerves too! wee! I have cooked lips.

Ahhh. what a lovely comp day. I’ve got so much accomplished – All of it with my damn car.
I hate spending money on cars, it is *so* not fun. But now I have:
An oil change
A working headlight
A Clean and shiny and waxed vehicle.

I also worked out, so that is nice. Our neice Katie is playing some Lucas Learning math game on my computer while I am on the one H uses – She’ll be happy to see I installed speakers for her.
Only thing left for today for me is to mow the lawn; I’ll do that this early evening.

It is really difficult to type on a “natural” keyboard when you are used to a conventional one. It is especially difficult when you are not a touch-typist, which I am not.

That’s what I am up to – not much.

Re:

As so brightly figured out, Heather and I are coming to Atlanta for Dragon Con this Labour day.
We’re flying in on Thursday the 29th, out on Tuesday the 3rd.

Both the Hyatt and the Marriott were full, so we are staying at the Days Inn downtown.

So hooray! we get to meet all you lovely Atlanta TH/LJ people! Hooray. I’m very very excited. Thank goodness Mr. smarty-pants figured it out, I thought I would burst from the secret keeping.
