OK here’s there report
After shopping for a top for myself for the show ( A nice long sleeve T-shirt-fabric black number with a Skull’nXbones on it) and other fun (drinks at a pub, drinks and lunch at the Palace Hotel, sephora shopping), we get to the Warfield and wait in line ( it is a Gen Admin show)
About 5 people in front of us is , but since I don’t know her other than noticing that she also had a live journal when I did a search for users in Petaluma, I didn’t introduce myself or anything. Would have been too creepy, I feel.
So Heather had to work, and she wasn’t going to get there till about 7:00 which is when the doors opened. My sister waited outside for H and I went in to secure tables, which I did, and H and Cindy (My sister) came in about 10 minutes later.
There were 2 opening bands.
First one was a QueerCore Lesbian punk band named Tribe 8 who were very cool and fun. The lead singer was a hot butch who in the last song, was topless and had a large strap on that was being fellated by two male groupies in front of her while she sang. Yes, they were that good. Yay! new band!
Next up was a 3-member Japanese pop-punk group, but I don’t remember their name because they didn’t impress me all that much – I think I was just eager for the grandmother of goth.
Long about 10:00 PM, Siouxsie comes onstage and starts with the 1st track instrumental from “The Scream” and runs into track 2 on “The Scream,” Jigsaw Feeling.
That made one happy Craig.
Followed by Metal Postcard (mittag eisen), and B-sides such as I could be again, and pre-Tinderbox tunes from JuJu, a Kiss in the Dreamhouse, and Join Hands (no Kaleidoscope ‘Christine’ tonight — though we did get Tenant).
Actually, it was a JuJu heavy show with Spellbound, Arabian Nights, Monitor, Night Shift (The ultimate in Craig favourites), and Voodoo Dolly.
Two encores, and a statement Siouxsie made that sticks in my head:
Siouxsie: “Show number 6 in the 7 year itch, and the itch just keeps getting bigger!”
Does this hint at a more-than-reunion tour? This banshee certainly hopes so.
